ImageIf you have decided to throw a baby shower, then here are some tips to make it a great success. I have organized quite a few fun baby showers. Organizing a baby shower is both exciting and challenging. It requires a lot of thought and some creativity. While a lot of it is technical, you can have a lot of fun in the process. Part of the fun is finding baby shower party supplies to give the event Pizazz.  I feel like a kid in a candy store when I go to pick the baby shower party supplies.

There are so many ideas and options available for anyone who is planning the baby shower together. Baby shower party supplies are a whole specialty market in itself. You can create practically any kind of atmosphere with your selection of baby shower party supplies. Before rushing to buy the first thing you see, consider the options and decide what kind of environment and atmosphere you want to create.

First of all, if you know if the baby is a boy or a girl, it sure simplifies picking what baby shower party supplies are best. But, it's very important to be very sure that the mom-to-be has decided to make this information public. Also, there are always the moms and dads who don’t want to know whether it's a boy or a girl until the birth. No problem. Just choose soft pastels like yellows and pale greens, violets, and whatever looks good.  Nicely combined colors work well for any party décor.

I was the type of mom who wanted to be surprised and my sister created an atmosphere that was really fun and original. She decorated using baby shower party supplies with a duck theme. This worked very well and I loved the decorations. You can’t go wrong with little yellow ducks.

She had yellow ducks all over and she instructed the guests to bring  a duck-related gift. Now my daughter has a cute collection of duck stuff. She has ducks on everything from her pajamas to her little chair. She just loves them.

My sister decided to keep the yellow theme going even for the favors. The baby shower party supplies included innovative gifts for the guests. My sister used empty baby food jars as candle holders. Each guest received a yellow candle in a decorated baby food jar. Our guests burned the candles on my daughter’s first birthday. This started a special tradition in our family.

One last tip on planning a baby shower. Don't wait until the last moment. Just remember that two weeks before the due date is considered normal to give birth. Years ago I planned and set up a beautiful shower, complete with stunning baby shower party supplies. My dear friend Judy, the expectant mom was thrilled, but looked a bit worried and confided that maybe something was "happening". Sure enough, after less than ten minutes she started having strong contractions and barely got to the birth center in time to have her baby. We left all the decorations up in her house to enjoy, with her baby in her arms. Way to go!
